Oh, that is so very sad. I hope its not a lost toy. My son lost his stuffed monkey once on Court when he was 3. It was his favorite toy and I was more heartbroken than him, I think. I actually made up fliers and posted them all around the neighborhood. He was never found. I imagined the monkey lying on the pavement in the dirt, just like the doll in the picture.
It is sad to see these abandoned toys, I have a story in this blog somewhere about my animalistic next door neighbors who had a party and destroyed a giant plush Shrek toy to pieces while screaming "kill him!" It's true! I blogged about it back in February.
Hopefully your son's monkey got picked up by a kid who treated him well!

Yes, I remember reading your Shrek story. I wonder if people know that Shrek comes from the german word 'Schreck" which means "fright."
