I've heard through the Gowanus grapevine that a very impressive amount of people in the community have gotten their written commentary in regarding the Toll Brothers Project on Bond Street. From individuals to groups, many took the time to write very well thought out and researched comments. They are currently being compiled and copies will be sent to our elected officials early next week. Our pols need to be aware of the community's voice so if you have sent in a commentary, please send a copy to so it can be added to the very impressive stack.
It can be sent to this email address: mmaugenest (at) aol (dot) com
Also, I did go to the Toll Brothers presentation last night. Considering they are planning to build on toxic swampland with major sewage issues, they managed to make it sound sooo idyllic. Some of the adjectives they used were very creative, like who knew Bond Street "has grace"? Take a look at Pardon Me for Asking's take on the whole dog and pony show.

um, idealic = idyllic?
Well you know what i mean, thanks, I stand corrected.
Rainwater currently collected and discharged by the Toll properties to combine with our sewer, and overflow into the Gowanus will be treated on-site before dicharge into the canal!
This is great news and we should be demanding the same of 3rd and Bond and no one is protesting that development - why? The other CB6 manufacturing to residential rezonings should collect / treat rainwater on site but NO ONE has asked for that from them - why not?
I have wondered myself how the 3rd & Bond project has slipped under the radar. NOBODY mentions them! Not even the big boy real estate blogs...
Perhaps it is because they have that lame "blog" on Brownstoner so everyone thinks they are on the up & up.
NOONE ever comments about the health or environmental hazards on that blog. NEVER!
and as an aside the art on the wall surrounding the project is just plain idiotic...like living on top of revolutionary war dead is alluring.
The sewer doesn't even run down the Toll property, so how does the first commenter explain how the rain form the present site is getting into the sewer?
This is the lie that we can all look forward to in the EIS, that the development is going to make the sewing better, better over a most an invented present senerio.
